Program Summary
This program drives home the meaning of a diverse approach to childcare by incorporating the diversity fundamentals of recreational programs, with strong faith-based fundamentals. Students walk away with the educational and developmental background of caring for young children within working families. The childcare industry has changed since its origination in the late 19th century which began as a charity established to address the need to enrich children and families of poor communities.
The need for childcare is much greater today. Students will be able to land roles in facilities that requires childcare skills to help children learn, grow and develop within a safe and healthy environment. This program is most suitable for those who are passionate about children and has the desire to help children develop far beyond their expectations or limitations.
Program Overview
This program’s main goal is to teach students how to help children learn grow and develop within a safe environment. In this program, you will learn how to supervise and care for children. As a childcare specialist, you will develop a sense of building good habits, assisting with homework, as well as edifying children on basic educational needs. When pursuing a career in childcare it is best practice to enjoy being around children as well as feeling comfortable multitasking your responsibilities. Childcare specialists generally provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children. Our program teaches the student how to utilize their skills inside the classroom and outside the classroom. Childcare isn’t bound to a classroom setting. Upon completion of this program, the student will be equipped with the understanding of how modeling good hygiene habits and good character affect the developmental growth of a child.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this program, students would be eligible to sit for the National Career Certification Board (NCCB) Certified Child Care Worker (CCCW) Certification Exam.
