Program Summary
The study and teaching of sociology in this program are founded on the idea that the greatest value of behavior appears in the value and behavior within mankind. This program offers students the key fundamentals to developing a strong root in sociology with a varied approach to include an introductory approach to the systematic study of behavior.  

The program hones in on the development and outcome of sociology by giving a keen understanding of the fundamentals of collective behavior, an understanding of the Models of Social Satisfaction, stratification through mankind’s own action of the division of people into a different social class. In the early 19 century, sociology emerged in response to the increased mobility of technological advances that resulted in an increase in people’s exposure to society and cultures that were different from their own cultural norms. Students will gain a well-rounded knowledge of the fathers of sociology, giving them a more profound understanding of sociology from a professional perspective.

Program Overview In this program students will learn the true understanding of the social world. Students will study why sociology provides a better understanding of reasons for social differences. They will understand the reasons for differences in group opportunities and outcomes. This program prepares students to understand the relevance of social hierarchies and social power in daily life. students will gain such social skills as empathy, communication skills, and cultural competence. Upon completion of this program, students will obtain a keen social justice orientation. students will also gain a better understanding of their own life. The sociological imagination allows students to recognize that their own experiences and circumstances are not unique. In contrast, we share the same patterns in behaviors and opportunities.
